10 Great Downtown Denver Restaurants that you have to try!

What are you in the mood for?

Italian? – Check out Venice Ristorante & Wine Bar- Downtown Denver

Lasagna Bolognese, Caesar Salad, Cioppino and Lamb Chops

If you are thinking Italian, I know just the place to try in Denver! This restaurant can stay packed, so it is best to set a reservation after you have had a peek at the menu and decided that you want to dine here.

My favorite dishes are the Lasagna Bolognese and the Cioppino Toscano. Whatever you get here, you can’t go wrong because the ingredients are fresh, and the service is great. It is also mostly in a dimly lit, intimate setting so it has a great night vibe.

Craving Pizza? – You’ve got to try Walter’s 303 Pizzeria & Publik House- Uptown Denver

Upon arrival to this restaurant, your senses will thank you. You have multiple options to enjoy a few drinks and a meal whether seated at the bar, at a table or outside. This place is cool because they also host trivia night and have games so this is great for a date night or if you are entertaining a family.

I recommend not only any pizza (you can customize them too!) but I also recommend the wings, they are baked but they are so flavorful and juicy. Lastly, they also have great salads, my favorite has been the Greek but again, you can’t go wrong with anything you choose!

How about seafood? -Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar -Downtown Denver

Pan-Seared Barramundi

I love fresh seafood and being in a state where there is no ocean nearby is hard however, this restaurant has not let me down, of course if I am there, I am ordering crab legs, but my heart has been skipping a beat lately for the Pan-seared Barramundi. You can also try the fried calamari and if you are into Oysters, they have great Chargrilled oysters with a special Creole butter and Grana Padano Cheese.

If you are in the mood for Mexican- D’Corazon Mexican Restaurant- Downtown Denver

I actually found this place on Cinco De Mayo, and I was happy I did. They have great margaritas and great food. I like that there is a lot of diversity in the crowd that comes here, and you can really have a great time.

Want to try something different? -Ace Eat Serve- Uptown

Ace Eat Serve thoroughly surprises me, every time I have the opportunity to go. This restaurant is categorized as Asian Fusion and many items on the menu, you won’t find anywhere else. The service is impressive, and this place is great for date or family night with Ping Pong tables, outside seating, a firepit and live music on the weekends.

Needing something sweet? Try DANG Soft Serve -Oneida

If you are like me, we are a sucker for a date ending with ice cream, no not a date with someone, like a random date of the week or month with ice cream after dinner. DANG sets themselves apart because their flavors are like no other nearby and they also serve a pint of “dang good fries”.

#Cookityourself: Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQDowntown

Looking for an intimate setting where you can show off your cooking skills? Gyu-Kaku has fresh ingredients and premium quality meats to impress your date, friend or family.

I recommend the Chef’s Choice BBQ course, it is about $45 USD per person, but it is so worth it, you get salads, soups, sushi, broccoli with cheese and many meats to cook such as short rib, ribeye, pork belly, shrimp, and Filet Mignon. You can even end the night making delicious smores over the fire. How romantic!

What about breakfast food?- Try Snooze

Blood Orange Mimosas
Blood Orange Mimosas

This is place would not really be considered a date night since they close at 2:30pm on weekdays and 4pm on the weekends, but I wanted to bring them into the equation because you can have a good time here.

Good drinks, good food and good service with breakfast foods from pancakes, French toast, breakfast tacos, eggs benedict and so much more. They also serve alcoholic beverages such as Mimosas, Bloody Mary’s, and Breakfast Margs.

Not hungry but in the mood for a nightcap? – Have a few whiskey cocktails at Seven Grand

Mint Julep

Seven Grand is a whiskey bar in the Dairy Block district of Denver, Colorado. This bar features over 700 whiskeys and is open until 2AM.

Great drinks and wonderful service, this place is great if you aren’t ready to home after dinner. The ambience is great with dim lighting and if you can catch a table, you play some pool and listen to some great music.

Desiring something smokey? – Go to AJ’s Pit BBQ

Last but most definitely not least is AJ’s Pit BBQ. Though in my opinion the meat could use more seasoning, the overall cook on the meat is excellent. The meats are always cooked consistently with beautiful color and great smokey flavor. This restaurant does allow for dine in, but you can take the meats home if you are wishing to create your own sides. If you are a meat lover, I suggest trying the Beef Ribs, they can be pricey at $30 USD per bone, but it is a lot of meat and one can feed more than one person, so it is worth it.
