Are you craving good authentic Texas Style BBQ in Denver?

BBQ in Denver

A Foodie Review

While I didn’t start out in Texas, I’ve had my fair share of BBQ experiences across the United States and even abroad in places like Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Portugal, etc. I think at this point, I can self-appoint myself as someone who understands the expectation of what someone is looking for when they are craving BBQ.

Denver’s a landlocked city, which means we’re not exactly swimming in seafood options. Did you know that Colorado is an agricultural state? The state’s major crops include wheat, corn, hay, and livestock such as cattle and sheep. So that means we had to have a lot of farmlands, right? According to the 2023 published report for Colorado Agriculture, there are around 38,900 farms and ranches spread across almost 32 million privately owned acres. I said all that to say, there has to be some crops or livestock on some grills are out here somewhere.

Surprisingly, living in Denver has been interesting in the BBQ department, finding good BBQ has been far and in between, however, after six years of being in Denver, I’ve finally stumbled upon one worth sharing—better late than never, right?

Great Quality BBQ

What determines great quality BBQ?

For me, great quality BBQ is determined by the cut of meat, the seasoning, the cook, the bark, and the color. Ultimately, it’s about the unique flavor that results from the genuine passion put into the process of cooking the meat.
